Michal Tomšovský, member of Phytophthora Research Centre and a principal investigator of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology MENDELU, is a co-author of a recent article published in Nature Ecology and Evolution.
The article is an unique collaboration of more than 60 world experts in fungal taxonomy, phylogeny and biodiversity and its outcomes unravel the dispersal of different lineages of basidiomycetous fungi in evolutionaly history. The extensive data-set of the multigene and genome-based data of 5284 fungal species infered ages and broad patterns of speciation/extinction and morphological innovation in mushroom-forming fungi.
